The Grassland Extravaganza Field Day on 'Thistlebrook Park', Bredbo, on Sunday 30th November 2008 was a great success.

The Grassland Extravaganza Field Day held on Thistlebrook Park in Bredbo on Sunday 30th November was enjoyed by over 50 people. A number of plant species were stumbled upon that impressed even the grassland experts, including three rare legumes, the pink Austral Trefoil (Lotus australis), the purple Mountain Psoralea (Cullen microphylla), and Zornia (Zornia dyctiocarpa). Many other grassland species were admired and the attendees engaged in quality networking through out the day with dissemination of material from over 13 groups. Over lunch, Owen Whitaker provided a demonstration of what the Bredbo Landcare blow seeder is capable of, giving us hope for the future restoration of grasslands.
