Kosciuszko2Coast Region
An anchor in the Landscape -"Scottsdale" The first great stride towards bridging the ecological gap between Kosciuszko and the coast was the purchase in 2006 by Bush Heritage Australia of the 1300 hectare species rich "Scottsdale" property located south of Canberra, 4m north of Bredbo. "Scottsdale" has a long history as a working farm and cattle grazing is being used as a tool to restore native grasslands. The property still contains a variety of woodland and grassland communities that are regarded as endangered or threatened. It is now being actively managed to control weeds and re-establish native vegetation. |
